Flashback Friday: Dreaming of warmer climes.

I watched the weather forecast last night, Gentle Reader, and was informed that today was going to be -5 during the morning hours, but windchill would make it feel like -20.

Then, the abnormally cheerful meteorologist went on to inform me in the world’s most annoying chirpy voice that next week Indianapolis will see temperatures reaching -12 with a windchill of negative 35.

Frankly, I’m tired of living in the frozen tundra of the Midwest.  Bring back the balmy mid to upper 30’s and I sincerely promise to never complain about the weather again.

So as I dream of warmer weather, I thought I’d post this picture for flashback Friday.

beach 2005

It’s a picture of Will and Trinity basking in the sun on the beach in North Carolina.  We rented a house right off the shoreline with my parents, my sisters and their husbands, and my aunt.

Nine years later, this trip still remains my favorite vacation of all time.

Looking at this photo, I can hear the gulls crying overhead, feel the sand between my toes, and the sun on my face.  I can even smell the quarts of suntan lotion I used on my children during that trip.

Mmmmmm……  I almost feel warm.

Hurry spring.  Momma needs you.

  1. Oh, gosh, I just looked at photos from our most recent trip to the beach, too. (Anything to recall what it feels like to be warm!)
