The end is in sight.

Summer vacation is almost over here at Bunkersdown.  We have a week and a half before we start school.

I’m not going to lie, I’m looking forward to getting back to our normal routine with  set bedtimes, school work that fills our day, and familiar schedules.  I am a creature of habit at heart and despite how much fun my children have had this summer I know that they are too.

And we have had fun this summer.  We tried new things and went to new places.  We had lazy days when we didn’t get out of our pajamas before noon.  We stayed up late and watched amazing people do amazing things on television.  We also stayed up late and watched ridiculous people do idiotic things (Wipeout! I’m looking at you sir.)

My children are quick to point out that summer isn’t finished yet.  We have ten more days to squeeze every last drop from the season.  We’re going to visit a few museums, pick some raspberries, visit the downtown library, and make popsicles.

Basically for the next week and a half we are going to suck out all the marrow of life we can handle without choking.

And a lot of watermelon.

I have mixed emotions as well about summer ending. Looking forward to the routine, but going to miss the fun and laziness. Squeezing is as much as possible sounds like a great plan!
