Yesterday, after putting it off for two months, I finally harvested the last of our carrots.
I meant to pull them earlier. I really did. But there were tomatoes to can, chickens to stalk, and American history to teach. I told myself, “Those carrots can wait a few more days.”
Which, in hindsight, probably wasn’t true.
These are my carrots.
Now, Gentle Reader, you probably can’t quite grasp the enormity of these beta-carotene gigantors.
So here is a picture with the largest store bought carrot I could find on the left and one of my carrots-that-time-forgot on the right.
It’s like looking at the before and after pictures of that Insanity Workout commercial. Which, for some reason, is always on at 9:35 p.m. while I’m enjoying a bowl of ice cream.
Anyone want a carrot stick? I’ll just get out my axe and cut you one.
Procrastination- it does a carrot…good?
