Sometimes you just get tired of hurting, tired of complaining, and tired of being tired.
Fortunately for me, I found a few minutes this weekend to stand on my back porch and forget about my own problems. Instead, I concentrated on my girls.
I love their joy. I love their ability to overlook the cold and the chill to find something fun. I love that they did the best with what they had, and didn’t complain about what they’re missing (i.e. boots for my oldest. <mother shame.>)
They just focused on the now and found joy.
And because they did, I did too.
So that’s my goal for today: find the joy in the now. Even if the now sucks a little bit.

The look on Eden’s face in the second to bottom picture underscores your words perfectly.
