One of the things my children wanted to do this summer was visit the IMA- the Indianapolis Museum of Art. My kids aren’t art buffs (as I sadly discovered on our trip to Chicago when we paid lots of money to visit the Art Institute, only to have my offspring wander around moaning “I’m boooooored” every two minutes.)
However, the IMA has over 150 acres of gardens, outdoor sculptures, and wooded areas. Which is perfect for kids who want to run around, climb on strange objects, and throw pebbles at water (and the occasional sibling.)
Since my sisters were in town with their children and the weather wasn’t too hot, we all decided to make a visit.
I did manage to get everyone lost for 40 minutes as we hiked up and down trails with sweaty, panting children (150 acres is BIG, gentle reader) but my sister and I had a moment when we laughed so hard we almost peed our pants. So I’m counting the whole outing as a win.
Cousin time is definitely the best time.

I’m partial to the sixth picture. You know, the one with two children passed out from exhaustion.
That’s how I roll: wear them out in the morning, then watch them have an early bedtime later.
Ninja parenting at work once again.
